Dharam - Sunny are 'Bus Do Punjabi'

Yusuf Khan, who made his directorial debut with KHEL, has cast Dharmendra and Sunny Deol in his new venture called BUS DO PUNJABI. What is BUS DO PUNJABI all about? "It's based on the father-son relationship. Since the father-son hail from Punjab in my story, I couldn't think of anyone but Dharam-ji and Sunny for the roles in question," Yusuf enlightens.
What prompted Yusuf to opt for a title like BUS DO PUNJABI? "That's because the father and son duo of Punjabis take on a gang of villains when they arrive from Punjab. Bus do Punjabi hi kaafi hain saare villains ke liye. That explains the relevance," Yusuf states. Incidentally, Anees Bazmee [director of NO ENTRY] is writing the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film.
BUS DO PUNJABI is a comedy with loads of high-voltage action scenes. In fact, the makers are planning to cast as many as nine villains in the film. "My office has already short-listed thirty names and we need to decide upon nine actors from this list. The villains have an integral role to play in BUS DO PUNJABI," he smiles.
Yusuf is yet to finalize the leading ladies. At a point of time, the makers were toying with the idea of casting established names, but they might settle for new faces. "Since Sunny has allotted bulk shooting dates from July to September, we may opt for newcomers who have dates to spare at a short notice. However, we've yet to take a decision on whether to cast a known name or a newcomer," he adds.
G.V. Prasad is producing BUS DO PUNJABI, which goes on floors on July 25 this year.
